LECTURE

This page offers a good idea about my intellectual and academic journey in several universities in the world. I had studied respectively English, psychology and sociology in Iraq, USA and Canada. As a Visiting Professor or a Professor, I taught in the following order at universities in Canada, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Malaysia and the Sultanate of Oman.
My published books in English, Arabic and French are 33 books of which I am the author of 17 and I wrote one chapter in 12 others and I translated 4 books from French and English into Arabic. I have published more than 250 essays, articles and book reviews in the three languages. The main themes of my publications are six: 1- Tunisian society, 2-Arab-Islamic thought, 3- Ibn Khaldun’s thought, 4- The universe of cultural symbols, 5- The Other Underdevelopment in the Arab world, 6- Crime and deviance. There is a seventh theme which covers my intellectual activities via published essays, articles and book reviews whose themes are different from the six above. I have participated in many Tunisian, Arab and international seminars, colloquium and congresses. Finally, I was the adviser of numerous Master and doctoral theses in Tunisia and abroad. I have invented the Theory of the Human Symbols/HS which claims that Man is a Third Dimensional Being (body, soul and HS) or a Homo Culturus as well as a number of concepts drawn from the social reality of the Arab world: the Other Underdevelopment, the Al-Mustanfira Tunisian Personality, Conspiring bilingualism in the Maghrebian societies.
